One Step in Front of the Other

Quick update on my health and fitness goals:

I have been soda sober for 24 days and counting. If I can go the rest of the summer without drinking any soda (diet, regular, whatever), then I will reward myself with one can of regular Coca-Cola on a day in September of my choosing. That one prized can of Coke will taste better than the hundred glasses of diet soda I could be drinking from here to then, I’m sure. Considering I do not drink coffee regularly (really only around Christmas when I can get a peppermint mocha latte), there’s very little caffeine in my life right now. I felt generally more tired at first, and I’m slowly increasing my energy levels through more consistent work-outs. Er, yeah, consistent.

According to the ever accurate Wii scale, I lost four pounds. Then I gained two pounds back. Stupid, vicious lose-gain cycle of suck. So, I’m making small progress, uh, I think, but there’s still a long way to go before I became macrobiotic Gwyneth Paltrow.*

My next healthy eating adventure is to decrease my sugar intake. Wish me luck…

*Yes, I’m reading her cookbook. Yes, I officially feel subhuman.
