I am one of those people that has way too many things going on at once. Why not pile onto the heap that is rapidly reaching for the fan? Because the explosion will be prettier, that’s why.
My internet life mirrors my real life in this same way. I LOVE blogs but rarely get to read or update them but I still can’t stop my obsession. It is like I am looking for the perfect mix of social media harness my creative power and stop the impending zombie apocalypse. I have a Twitter, Facebook, Google+, WordPress, Tumblr, oh another WordPress, mySpace, LinkedIn, LastFM, Goodreads, My BN, Gamer DNA. YouTube…and I am sure another slue of failed accounts… And I have managed to link most, if not all, of them together. Post to one and I go viral.
I am writing this post like I have done something awesome tonight. Well, I may have. I managed to update things and get a mental social image in my head. I have finally made that clear picture of what I want everything for. What should be connected and what shouldn’t and what I want to be posting places. I have taken two blogs and changed them into scrapbooks to keep my thoughts in order and to relieve stress, and taken a third to bond even closer with friends. The rest is just hanging out.
I am happy with this improvement and now it is time to make social media work for me. Isn’t that what it is meant for anyway? It is my tool and I am not the tool. Take that social distortion.
